Board-exam working:

an=a+(n1)da_n=a+(n-1)d

Here a=2 and d=7−2=5.

We need n=10.

a₁₀=a+(10−1)d=2+9×5=2+45=47.

Check: a₉=2+8×5=42 and a₁₁=2+10×5=52, so the difference on both sides is 5.
